Myofascial
Massage
Myofascial Massage teaches how to massage the
body's fascia which can be damaged by poor posture, injury, and inflammation
and the resulting pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bones and organs
by applying sustained pressure and specific movements to clients.

Manual Lymph Drainage
(Basic)
MLD is a precise technique designed to
accelerate the normal functioning of the lymphatic system. Therapeutic
application of MLD cleanses the connective tissue of inflammatory materials and
toxins, and enhances the immune system. This course of study will cover the
history, principles and theory of the highly regarded Vodder system of manual
lymph drainage. Students will learn of the four basic techniques of manual
lymph drainage and how to apply them to the whole body as a treatment to help
clear the lymphatic pathways.

Manual Lymph
Drainage Therapy One
Students will review the four basic movements, and learn
additional special techniques for the joints, intra-oral, and deep abdominal
work. 40 hrs
Deep Tissue
This course of classes includes
deep muscle procedures. Posture, indications and contraindications will be
discussed, as well as the superficial and deep musculature of the head and neck.
Students will emerge with a working knowledge of the structure and function of
specific body parts.

Advanced
Palpatory, Anatomy and Kineseology Series
Students review the Anatomy covered in Basic
then guided through additional focus on muscles relating to the area being
introduced during each phase of continued study. The course will also cover an
in-depth study of Systems Anatomy, whereby students are taught about the
Nervous, Cardiac, Respiratory, Digestive, Circulatory, Skeletal, Integumentary,
Muscular, Endocrine, Excretory and Reproductive System.
Advanced Pathology
Series
As an introduction to the theories and mechanisms of disease,
this course focuses on the pathological conditions most likely to be encountered
in a massage therapy practice. Special attention will be given to precautions,
contraindications and indications for massage sessions when working with massage clients exhibiting
specific conditions. When and how it is appropriate to refer clients to other
health care practitioners will be included
Insurance
Billing
This class is designed for massage therapist to
do third party billing and collect compensation for medical massage services.
This will include record keeping and all papers required for patient records.

Postural Improvement
This course will
cover many kinds of postural distortion that massage therapists can help:
forward head; rounded shoulders; hunchback; swayback; pelvic tilt; leg
length unevenness. Symptoms, known causes, typical effects,
contraindications, applicable anatomy and additional treatment supports will
be discussed. Suitable ways to apply advanced massage therapy that can
improve body alignment and posture will be demonstrated along with
table-side assistance during practice. 40 hours
Soft Tissue Injury
This course will
cover many kinds of injuries that massage therapists can help: vehicular
whiplash; accidents and falls; muscle strains (pulled hamstrings, etc.);
tendon tears (rotator cuff problems, bicipital tendinitis, tennis elbow,
achilles tendinitis, etc.); ligament sprains (sacroiliac, ankle, wrist,
knee, etc.); repetitive strain; microtrauma; plantar fasciitis; shin
splints. Symptoms, known causes, typical effects, contraindications,
applicable anatomy, and additional treatment supports will be discussed.
Suitable ways to apply advanced massage therapy that can assist wound
healing and optimize scar tissue will be demonstrated, along with table-side
assistance during practice. 40 hours
Soft Tissue Pain
This course will
cover many areas of pain (due to spasm, cramping, nerve entrapment, etc.)
that massage therapists can help: upper and low back; head and jaw (TMJ
disorder, headache, etc.); arm and hand (carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.);
pelvis and hip; leg and foot; shoulder and neck (frozen shoulder, thoracic
outlet syndrome, etc.). Symptoms, known causes, typical effects,
contraindications, applicable anatomy, and additional treatment supports
will be discussed. Suitable ways to apply advanced massage therapy that can
greatly decrease pain and improve function will be demonstrated, along with
table-side assistance during practice. 40 hrs
